JUKI, FEATHERWEIGHT, AND PFAFF CLEANING AND SERVICING: Sign up to have your machine serviced by Chris Botts from Paradise. He will be at Sew What on Saturday, February 20th. It takes him an hour to do each machine, so machines will be looked at by appointment only. Reservations, with payment, must be made in advance. If your machine needs repair, Chris will have to take it back to his shop in Paradise. You can leave it with him on this date, and you and he can figure out the best way to get the machine back when it’s fixed. If you get your machine serviced, you will receive 20% off any purchases that day at Sew What, excluding machines and sale items.

BAJA BLUES: Known traditionally as Amish Shoofly, Linda has developed an easier way for construction than what ‘our grandmothers’ would have used. This is a fat quarter friendly quilt, which means we get to use those cute bundles up that we’ve been buying. DESIGN YOUR OWN T-SHIRT: Alison will provide a basic pattern and you will pick out colors and stitches for the different parts of the pattern to make your own unique T-shirt. There will be three classes. In the first class you will decide on yarns, colors and stitches you want to use, and figure out the rest of your supplies. Techniques and stitches you might learn (depending on your choices) are intarsia, traveling stitch, bobbles, cable, eyelets slip stitch, etc. Below are pictures of some of T-shirts Alison has done. KNITTING 1B: During the first class we will choose a project commensurate with your ability. You might want to make a purse, child’s sweater or a vest. During this class you will greatly expand your knitting ability. Part of what you will learn is how to choose a pattern and the yarn. KNITTING POTLUCK: Face up to it. You have unfinished projects! Let’s get them out and have a fun day working on them. Maybe this is just what you need to inspire you get back to your project. We did this workshop before and had great fun. Well, part of it was making fun of each other for not finishing projects. Yes – I will bring one. Please bring a salad to serve four and your own drink. I will provide the plates and utensils. Although there is no charge, please sign up and list what you will bring. There is no supply list, just bring your project. MAGIC LOOP SOCKS: Learn to knit socks the Magic Loop way. This method teaches you to make one sock at a time with one 40” circular needle. The good news is that this is really, really easy to do. This is a two part class (1 ½ hours each session). In the first lesson you will learn how to cast on, and setup your work. This sock is worked from the cuff down, so we will proceed with the cuff down to the beginning of the heel. The second class will teach you how to work the heel flap, turn the heel, and work the foot. You will also learn all about grafting (the Kitchener stitch) to finish the sock.
